Det planlagte arbejde er organiseret i 6 arbejdspakker (´workpackages´eller WP), med bidrag fra forskellige partnere. Selv om hver enkelt WP har sin egen unikke metodiske tilgang, er arbejdspakkerne integreret ved en høj grad af samarbejde mellem WP’er. Teknikker til at høste, forarbejde og opbevare ålegræsfrø udvikles og testes i småskalaforsøg i WP 1. Efterfølgende testes mulige restaureringsteknikker med frø og frøplanter i WP 2 ved små- og mellemskalaforsøg i felten. WP 3 bidrager med information om effekten af klimaforandringer på ålegræsudbredelse, som indarbejdes i dynamiske modeller (WP 4) for at kunne forudsige de mest egnede lokaliteter til ålegræsrestaurering. Det endelige mål er at den viden, som er genereret WP 1-4, integreres for at give det bedst mulige udgangspunkt for udviklingen af storskalarestaureringsforsøg i WP 5. Endeligt vil cost-benefit analyser udført i WP 6 værdisætte effekten af ålegræsrestaurering i kysnære økosystemer.The planned work is organized into 6 workpackages with contributions from a number of partners. Although each WP has its unique methodological approach, they are integrated with a high degree of inter-WP collaboration. Seed handling techniques for restoration are developed and tested on small scales in the laboratory in WP 1. Subsequently, potential restoration techniques with seeds and seedlings are tested in WP 2 at small to moderate scales in the field. WP 3 provides information on importance of climate change effects for use in models (WP 4) developed to identify sites suitable for restoration actions and forecast restoration success. The ultimate goal is to integrate the gained knowledge from WP 1-4 into the development and application of large-scale restoration efforts in WP 5. Finally, WP 6 provides cost-benefit analyses of the suggested restoration efforts and values the ecosystem services provided by eelgrass.
